This year my wife gave me a Nook Color WiFi from Barnes & Noble for my birthday. I have wanted some sort of tablet device for some time as I really love my HTC EVO and I am really happy and comfortable with Android 2.2 (Froyo). A couple of my friends have iPads and while the iPad is pretty, I don’t like iTunes. I will not to go into my dislike of iTunes in this post. But if you like it more power to you.

After sifting through search results on google, I settled on this post on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUoHALWvPts by huskermania. This video is excellent. Before you get started you need a microSD card for your Nook. The video recommends 4 Gig or better storage capacity and the card should be a class 6 or better for optimum performance. I purchased a 16 Gig Class 10 microSD card from Frys Electronics for about $45. Once I had the card I followed the instructions in the video and I now have a 7 inch color touch screen tablet.

Once you are up and running you will want to go out and get an app called LauncherPro. The LauncherPro app will allow you to customize your desktop.

Below is a screenshot of the my new desktop when using LauncherPro.

And that concludes this post. I am very pleased with my new device. Thanks for reading.
